CHILDREN OF DIVORCE AND CHANGING FAMILIES  

FALL 2010  
Children of Divorce and Changing Families Support group assists all family members

in the difficult transition through separation and/or divorce.

This is a 8 week group for children and one of the parents.

Location: Location: St. Phillip's Episcopal Church 4400 N. Campbell Ave.
                                (Campbell Ave. and River Rd.)

October 18th through December 6th, Mondays      

6:30-8:00PM for 8 consecutive weeks  


Cost: A donation of $60 would be appreciated for the 8 week program (scholarships

are available, no one is turned away)

TUESDAY DROP-IN GROUPS
This Divorce Recovery Group is an open support group for anyone in the

process of ending or has ended a marriage or relationship.

When: Tuesdays from 1:00PM to 2:00PM

Endings - Adult Groups

10 consecutive weeks

Registration for Divorce Recovery I is not necessary. You may join a group

either the first or second meeting, after that you must join the next available Group.  

Divorce Recovery I (A donation of $60 is requested, scholarships

are available, no one is turned away).

DIVORCE RECOVERY II
Neutral Zone - A How to Manual for Adults

August 25th through September 29th Wednesdays 6:30-8:30 PM  8 consecutive weeks
The Saying Goodbye...agenda is designed to help group members progress through the emotional as well as the practical aspects of ending a relationship.  Individuals will develop a plan to survive this stage of the divorce process and create their own personalized "How To Manual" with resources and tools to reduce stress.  The goal of this 8 week group is to help it's members complete the divorce tasks by empowering them to say goodbye and move on to their new role in life.

THE FIVE LANGUAGES OF LOVE

The many ways we communicate with others and understanding those ways. 

This class is based on the book

of the same name by Gary D. Chapman.

 

 

September 2nd, Thursday, 6:30pm to 8:30pm

September 16th will continue this series and focus on

communication and relating issues.

GETTING TO KNOW YOURSELF....FIRST

One of the most important things that we need to do before dating and before

having a relationship is to get to know yourself.  This class will discuss:

*Questions and exercises to help you know who you are and what you want.

*How important is it to like yourself first...before trying to like someone else?

*Standing on your own two feet

*Aloneness vs. Loneliness

This 3-part class series will meet Thursdays starting March 18th.  You may attend

one or all three in this series.  Cost is $10 for each class.  Classes are from 6:30pm to 8:30PM

 HONORING SINGLEHOOD

 

The single population is growing in leaps and bounds and yet our society and

even single people struggle with regard to truly accepting singlehood.  This class will discuss:

*The difference between what it means to be an unsuccessful single vs. a successful single

*The myths, facts and truths about what it means to be single

*Living your life as if "no one is coming"...building the life you want to have before choosing

a partner/not after.

Date to be announced.  You may attend one or all

three in this series.  Cost is $10 for each class.  Classes are from 6:30pm to 8:30PM

THE ART OF BEING HUMAN

This class will tackle the popular issues that a person can struggle with as a human being. 

Will will discuss such human issues as:

*The lies we tell ourselves that hold us back

*Accepting the things we cannot change

*The issue of control

*Gullibility

*Jealousy

*Excess baggage

*The art of procrastination

 

Date to be announced.  You may attend one or all

three in this series.  Cost is $10 for each class.  Classes are from 6:30pm to 8:30PM


FINANCIAL LIFE AFTER LOSS
Learn about your credit and how to manage your finances

When: The second Monday of each month 6:00PM - 7:30PM

**A minimum of three people required for a class**

Cost: Free. Donations are encouraged.

LEADER TRAINING FALL 2010 GROUP

Date: Tuesday September 7th then Monday evenings beginning September 13th through October 11th. 

6:30pm to 9pm for 6 consecutive weeks
Fee: $60.00 (Scholarships are available)

Divorce Recovery Group Leader Training is designed to train potential leaders for Divorce Recovery groups.  Persons who want to become Divorce Recovery leaders must complete the training.  Having completed the training, participants will:

  • Understand the Divorce Recovery process:  The Transition Journey

  • Have an understanding of leadership in Divorce Recovery groups.

  • Develop the necessary skills to lead a Divorce Recovery group.

  • Participants receive the Divorce Recovery Manual and other materials. 

  • Participants are expected to participate fully in the training, including necessary required homework. 

The training is led by members of the Divorce Recovery Training team.
