![]() Divorce Recovery Groups Divorce Recovery-I: Endings This group addresses the beginning of the "Endings" process. The focus here is on the past. It is our hope that through your participation in divorce Recovery you
will understand the divorce transition as a journey of hope; experience a "safe
place" in which you can share your story and grieve your losses; and create a
support system for yourself. the goal of this group is to help you come to the
acceptance of the end of your relationship.
Thus this group addresses the "Endings" process. Saying Goodbye deals with the emotional and psychic
aspects of divorce. The focus of this group is to help the process of
uncoupling. The goal of this group is to help you complete the divorce tasks by
empowering you to say goodbye and move on to your new role in life.
Divorce Recovery-II: The Neutral Zone This group addresses the "Neutral Zone" of the process. The focus here is on the present and on you as the individual, so it is important that you have said goodbye to your past and are ready to move on. Divorce Recovery-III: New Beginnings Beginning again helps you transition into being single with confidence and a higher comfort level. You will explore and confirm your personal values and personality traits and learn to make more effective choices. The goals of Beginning Again is to help you regain a stronger sense of your self-image and to regain trust in your ability to make sound decisions. Brief History of Our Support Groups In the beginning of Divorce Recovery, there were only support groups for adults going through the end of a relationship and a weekly crisis group. Over the years as the program has developed, additional groups have been added. Today people who are going through the end of a relationship can participate in evening Adult Support Groups such as Divorce Recovery I, Divorce Recovery II "Transitions" and Divorce Recovery III "New Beginnings" and the Daytime Noon Drop-In Group. In addition, people may attend the "Children of Divorce" group. And for those who feel committed, they are encouraged to participate in the Group Leader Training and become a group leader.
