Children of Divorce & Changing Families

Three times a year, Divorce Recovery offers an 8-week program designed specifically to assist all family members in the difficult transition through separation and/or divorce.

Age-appropriate activities help guide families through the divorce recovery process.

In a community setting of peers, children (3-18) are invited to attend with one parent. The primary goals of the group are (1) to help parents and children establish better communication, and (2) to be able to talk more effectively about the divorce transition and the losses they are experiencing. A secondary goal is to help parents develop skills to assist in this transition.

Our next COD&CF group starts:

ADULT PROGRAMS

Divorce Recovery Support Groups are for persons ending relationships (divorced/ separated/unmarried) and needing support in the process of this transition journey.

Groups are 10 weeks in length and are closed after the second week. Groups are led by trained volunteers who themselves have experienced the divorce process. Divorce Recovery is a non-sectarian program and is grateful to our many host sites who allow us to use their facilities.

DIVORCE RECOVERY 1

THE TRANSITION JOURNEY: ENDINGS

Separating, divorcing or being divorced can be a challenging often overwhelming experience. If you are confused and hurting this program can help your journey through the divorce process easier and less traumatic.

This group addresses the beginning of the "endings" process. Through your participation in this group process, handouts and leader presentations, you will gain a better understanding of the divorce transition journey. Here you can share your challenges, losses and grief in a "safe" nurturing place. You will work on saying goodbye to your relationship and gain strength and hope as you move through this transition and say hello to your new life. A pledge of $60 is requested but no one is turned away.

DIVORCE RECOVERY 2

THE TRANSITION JOURNEY: THE NEUTRAL ZONE

This program will take you straight to your heart and soul as you examine where you are now and look toward your future, enjoying the life that comes after divorce or the end of a relationship.

In this group you will continue the focus on letting go and saying goodbye to your relationship by looking deeper at the relationship and deeper into yourself. This group process will also help you gain insight and skills on the questions of, "who am I now and where am I going?" Using a workbook, handouts, leader presentations and group discussions you will become empowered to face your new life with hope and confidence. Cost: $60
